Homemade Cold Remedy Tea

By | Friday, December 05, 2014

“It’s cold weather season and that means cold/flu/generally-feeling-mildly-sick season. I don’t know about anyone else but one of my first moves when I start to feel a cold coming on is to head to the nearest drugstore, with an IDGAF attitude and swipe half the shelf of Emergen-C, Theraflu, cough drops, tea & magazines into my basket. I blink and I’ve spent $60 on what I deem “essentials” to help me get through a ~rough patch~ when in reality, it’s just a semi-sore throat.

This winter I want to make an concerted effort to take care of my body and give it enough rest & nutrients so that I can avoid falling ill and spending unnecessarily on all those “gotta have its” at the drug store that can add up to hundreds over the course of 4 months. I use this recipe as a cold remedy that is inexpensive and can be whipped up at home by the potful. It features all natural, heathy ingredients like fresh mint, ginger root, lemon and honey that will leave you feeling warmed and on your way to feeling like your normal flossy self.” -Lauren
