6 Life Changes You Can Make From Your Couch
Let’s face it: it is hard to get out of bed sometimes. Or off the couch. Or out of the door and off to work. And sure, we do all of these things every day because we usually have to, but can you imagine how nice it would be if we didn’t have to really go anywhere to accomplish big things? Sign us right the hell up!
More importantly, aside from all of those who can make it out of the house and just don’t want to, it is so important to us here at TFD to remember that when it comes to life and finances, there are so many people in different socioeconomic situations, with different abilities, and with different schedules and time constraints that might make it more difficult to take steps forward in their financial lives. Having to physically go somewhere to accomplish something financially life-changing is simply not accessible to everyone — yet somehow, most of the advice on the internet is geared towards those with the extra time, bandwidth, and money to go out and do something like pick up a side hustle or participate in some sort of training or schooling to change careers. Think about it — if you’re already working 60-hour weeks and have kids at home, the article you read advising you to pick up an evening side hustle isn’t going to work. If you have no money or time, or if you have a disability that makes leaving the house difficult for you, the article you read advising you to go back to school full-time isn’t going to work. A lot of financial advice isn’t one-size-fits-all, but somehow, it often gets treated like it is.
And even though a lot of big important changes in life often need to be made outside of the house, there are a handful of really important, life-altering changes you can make right from the comfort of your couch without exhausting too much time or too many resources. These changes can range anywhere from assessing your financial situation to learning a fun new skill — what they all have in common is that they’re both helpful and easily accessible.
