The 5 Best Pieces Of Financial Advice I’ve Ever Gotten

By | Wednesday, June 12, 2019

If you’re looking to “get rich quick,” there’s no shortage of advice out there for you. There are entire websites, books, even motivational speaking careers dedicated to the subject. But extremely few and far between are the instances where get-rich-quick advice actually works.

The reality is that, when it comes to financial advice, the best advice out there often isn’t the flashiest. Most of the time, it deals with changing your mindset about money, or forcing yourself to do the money-related task that you’ve been dreading your whole adult life — e.g. actually checking in on your bank account regularly.

In our most recent video, Chelsea walks us through the best pieces of financial advice she’s ever gotten. None of them are based on hard numbers or specific investing tactics. Instead, they are all pieces of advice related to the philosophy of finance — that is, how to change your thinking about money in order to get better with it, not a specific amount to aim for. For instance, one of her most helpful pieces of advice is to understand that you don’t have to be rich in order to feel rich. If your income is well above your spending, you’re not panicked by the idea of a financial crisis because your accounts are in good shape, and you’re also able to spend on things that bring your life joy, it’s easier to feel wealthy. Head over to the TFD YouTube channel to hear the rest of this sage money advice!
