Every week, we’re participating in #totalhonestytuesday, sharing the things we’d usually keep off of social media, and giving a little more insight into our real (and very un-perfect) lives. Hopefully, in doing this, we can all feel a little less pressure to appear a certain way online, and remember that everyone around us is much more than just the highlight reel we normally see.

#totalhonestytuesday — Our garage is a nightmare. Living in a large house is wonderful in many ways, but one thing we've realized is that, like goldfish, we tend to expand to whatever point our environment allows. There are a lot of issues wrapped up in that, but the most practical one is that all the stuff the stuff in our house comes in has to go somewhere, and for the past two years, that's been our garage. It's large enough that it didn't become a problem until all of a sudden it was a giant one. I believe living a simple, decluttered life free of extra junk is the way to go, but it's not always what we've done, and now I'm paying for it with a day full of cobwebs, broken down cardboard boxes, and a giant yard sale pile. Is April too late to make resolutions? 😟

Sometimes your friends know exactly what you need before you do. @kelsey_amber_ made this for me as a wedding present, but I didn't know how much it would truly mean to me until I moved 2,000 miles away from home. I underestimated how hard it would be to live so far away from everything and everyone that I know. The reality is that sometimes it can get lonely, and it's easy to wallow in self-pity. I have to remind myself to be strong, and not feed my self-pity with negative thoughts. Some days are easier than others, but I'm lucky that I've got something so great to miss. #totalhonestytuesday

#totalhonestytuesday: I took my mom to get gel manicures a couple weeks ago, and I've been trying to milk it to get my money's worth, but it's starting to look ridiculous and I don't know how to get the polish off properly. (You can only semi-tell in this pic, but my hands are comically dry.)

I'm working retail again for the first time in a few years and I find myself online window shopping and seeing if I can buy clothes more than ever before. So today I actually sat down and ironed some of the clothes I have and realized I need to calm down, save some money, only buy things I can use for years to come, and do my laundry more often. 💰 #totalhonestytuesday

So my #totalhonestytuesday is a little different today! I kept telling myself to buy a "grownup" purse, but this one really screams "EVE!" and makes me happier than any other purse did – and I'm the one who has to wear it everyday! So be honest with yourself, and spend your money on things you're really gonna love – rather on things you think will impress other people or make other people happy! #mirrorselfie #purse #bag #sailormoon #luna #artemis #prettysoldiersailormoon #usagitsukino #usagi #crescentmoon #buythingsyoulove #catpurse #catbag #lunabag #sailormoonbag

#totalhonestytuesday I'm spending an average of an hour and change in this practice room every day and I should be spending more because my #recital is this weekend. Haven't worn makeup in a week because it's too much effort with this cold. Just gotta sleep and power through it, I guess.

#ontheblog today, I'm sharing five more reasons to start a business in your twenties. I mean if not now, when? #linkinbio & in the spirit of #totalhonestytuesday (@thefinancialdiet gets a shoutout in my blog post!) — I'm really not a fan of putting stock photos on my Instagram feed. I have no problem using them on my website, but I hate the feeling of inauthenticity & zero originality when I share them socially. So yes, I spent a good chunk of time recreating the photo I used on my blog.

Being asked to be a bridesmaid was so exciting until I realized it meant I would probably have to wear a dress with my arms exposed in front of 100+ people… This was a terrifying proposition. I'm a pretty confident person even though my body doesn't look like what society says it should look like but my arms have always been my biggest insecurity. I wear jackets and cardigans and sleeves. I always have. But standing next to my bestie in the dress she picked for me was more important than any dumb insecurity so I did it and guess what? Nobody died. It was fine. #totalhonestytuesday

This week's #totalhonestytuesday is a bit of a double. One, I smoke sometimes (when I drink, usually about once or twice a week, except when I am back in France, in which case I'll have at least one a day). Two, I actively hide this habit from my social media because it feels bad for my "brand." Yes, I really think in those terms sometimes. Commence with throwing the tomatoes.
