A lot of personal finance advice out there insists on whittling down your “personal spending” as much as you can. And we get it — when a certain type of spending feels frivolous, it’s hard to justify it when you feel like you need to be as careful with your money as possible. But here at TFD, we would never tell you not to spend money on things that may feel frivolous to others, but are important to you.
Case in point: beauty and personal care spending! Listen, if it’s something you’re putting on your face, hair, body, etc. every day, it’s a regular part of your budget. There is absolutely nothing wrong with spending money on makeup and skincare products if they help you feel like a more confident, energized version of yourself. However, it’s easy to feel like we must spend a lot of money on the “right” products, when in actuality, there are plenty of high-quality, low-cost makeup and beauty products available — even at your local drugstore!
In our most recent episode of The Lifestyle Fix, Tasha tells us which types of products she always buys at the drugstore and her rules for which make sense for you. For instance, if there’s a product you use every single day that often needs replenishing, a drugstore option may be your best bet. Head over to the TFD YouTube channel for Tasha’s rules of drugstore beauty!
