New Year’s resolutions are by no means the be all and end all of personal-life success stories. While a new year does provide us a good excuse to set a goal, it’s not the only time you have to get your life together the way you want to. Sometimes, it even puts so much pressure on us to reach a goal that we end up failing completely.
But a new year doesn’t have to mean completely revamping your life and becoming a totally different person. It can also be a good time to look at your everyday surroundings and notice a few small changes you can make — some of which can make a huge impact. For instance, when was the last time you gave your bedroom a good clean-out? Optimizing the space where you spend so much of your time (roughly a third of your life is spent sleeping, guys!) is crucial for your mental and physical health. The more you make your bedroom a personal sanctuary where you feel most comfortable and rejuvenated, the better. Case in point: if your sanctuary is filled with clutter or sheets that aren’t soft against your skin, it’s time to make some changes.
