Buckle up everyone, it’s that time of year again. Whether the approach of summer makes you stoked about the fruity cocktails in your future or dread the inescapable ads encouraging you to get in shape for “bikini season,” it’s coming. And with it the constant back-and-forth between sweating through our clothes and freezing in over-air-conditioned offices, the desire to, once again, overhaul our wardrobes is back and stronger than ever.
TFD may be a personal finance hub, but we will never tell you to 100% avoid shopping. We love shopping! And what we wear is incredibly important, both by helping us feel comfortable and decide exactly how we want to present ourselves to the world. But summer shopping, in particular, can be a total trap. There are so many things that are fun to buy that you think you need — a brand-new swimsuit even though the two you bought last year still fit perfectly, color-coordinating shorts and coverups, a floppy hat because hey, maybe this is the year you finally become a hat person!
In all seriousness, there are things you’ll often need when it comes to updating your summer wardrobe — the key is just to not go overboard. That’s why, on the most recent episode of The Lifestyle Fix, Tasha digs into her top summer wardrobe essentials that cost $40 or less. Spoiler alert: sunscreen counts as an essential. Wear it. Be sure to head over to the TFD YouTube channel to hear all of Tasha’s awesome recommendations!
